Vauxhall Viva Key Battery Replacement
This guide explains how to change the battery in a Vauxhall Viva key fob along with the type of battery required.
When Does the Battery Need Replacing?
The Vauxhall Viva radio remote control has a range of around 20 metres and operation is confirmed by flashing of the hazard warning lights. If operation is under 20 metres, it may be time to replace the battery.
You may also receive and error code 35 informing you to change the battery in the radio remote control (see Vauxhall Viva error codes for further information). The car and spanner warning light may also display (see Vauxhall Viva dashboard warning lights).
Changing the Battery
To change the battery inside the Vauxhall Viva remote key fob:
- Flip out the metal key by pressing the button
- Open the flap on the key body to reveal the battery
Before removing the battery, pay attention to the installation position of the old battery.
Battery Requirements
The battery type required for changing the Vauxhall Viva key fob is CR 2032.
Remote Control Synchronisation
After replacing the battery, the Vauxhall Viva key fob must be synchronised. To do this, unlock the driver’s door by physically inserting the key into the driver’s door lock. The radio remote control will be synchronised when the ignition is switched on.
