Vauxhall Viva Error Codes

This is the explanation or the error code numbers that appear on the Vauxhall Viva dashboard and not the fault codes generated by diagnostic equipment.

What are the Vauxhall Viva error codes?

The error code numbers displayed within the dashboard display are actually messages, displayed as code numbers. The code numbers represent vehicle faults and errors, or maintenance issues. Some code numbers represent information on your vehicle.

Messages are indicated mainly in the Driver Information Centre (DIC), in some cases together with another warning light and audible alert.  To confirm a message, press SET/CLR, MENU or turn the adjuster wheel. In some cases, if you’re having difficulty locating the fault, diagnostic equipment may be required to read fault codes.

Vauxhall Viva Error Codes and Meanings

Vauxhall Viva error code 3: Engine coolant level low. Top up with engine coolant as soon as possible. Always allow engine to cool before topping up and top up using correct mixture.

Vauxhall Viva error code 4: Air conditioning off. Air conditioning has been disabled. This maybe due to a temperature increase / sensor fault.

Vauxhall Viva error code 11: Brakes worn. Have brake discs and pads checked as soon as possible.

Vauxhall Viva error code 12: Vehicle overloaded. Remove excess weight from vehicle.

Vauxhall Viva error code 13: Compressor overheated. This relates to the air conditioning unit compressor.

Vauxhall Viva error code 15: Centre high-mounted brake light failure. Change the bulb in the brake light located at the top-centre of the rear windshield.

Vauxhall Viva error code 16: Brake light failure. Check bulbs in brake lights.

Vauxhall Viva error code 17: Headlight leveling malfunction. May relate to Adaptive Front Lights (AFL) module or sensor fault.

Vauxhall Viva error code 18: Left low beam failure. Check bulb in nearside / left front headlight.

Vauxhall Viva error code 19: Rear fog light failure. Check bulb in rear fog light.

Vauxhall Viva error code 20: Right low beam failure. Check bulb in offside / right front headlight.

Vauxhall Viva error code 21: Left sidelight failure. Check bulb in nearside / left sidelight.

Vauxhall Viva error code 22: Right sidelight failure. Check bulb in offside / right sidelight.

Vauxhall Viva error code 23: Reversing light failure. Check / change bulb in reversing light.

Vauxhall Viva error code 24: Number plate light failure. Check / change bulb in number plate light.

Vauxhall Viva error code 25: Left front turn signal failure. Check / change bulb in nearside / left front indicator.

Vauxhall Viva error code 26: Left rear turn signal failure. Check / change bulb in nearside / left rear indicator.

Vauxhall Viva error code 27: Right front turn signal failure. Check / change bulb in offside / right front indicator.

Vauxhall Viva error code 28: Right rear turn signal failure. Check / change bulb in offside / right rear indicator.

Vauxhall Viva error code 36: ESC Initialising.

Vauxhall Viva error code 49: Lane departure warning unavailable. Check camera view is clear of dirt / snow. Located top-centre of windshield.

Vauxhall Viva error code 52: Change timing belt. A broken timing belt can result in damage to the engine.

Vauxhall Viva error code 56: Tyre pressure imbalance on front axle. Check tyre pressures at the front of vehicle.

Vauxhall Viva error code 56: Tyre pressure imbalance on rear axle. Check tyre pressures at the rear of vehicle.

Vauxhall Viva error code 59: Open, then close driver window. Message often appears after changing or disconnecting the vehicle battery. Opening and closing the driver’s window will remove the message.

Vauxhall Viva error code 60: Open, then close front passenger window. Message often appears after changing or disconnecting the vehicle battery. Opening and closing the front passenger window will remove the message.

Vauxhall Viva error code 61: Open, then close left rear window.

Vauxhall Viva error code 65: Vehicle theft attempted.

Vauxhall Viva error code 66: Service anti-theft alarm system. This is usually due to a fault with the alarm system being detected.

Vauxhall Viva error code 67: Service steering wheel lock. A fault with the steering lock can be potentially dangerous – there’s a risk it may lock during driving.

Vauxhall Viva error code 68: Service power steering. Power steering may be operating at reduced efficiency.

Vauxhall Viva error code 75: Service air conditioning.

Vauxhall Viva error code 77: Service lane departure warning.

Vauxhall Viva error code 79: Top up engine oil. check engine oil levels using the dip stick and top up with Vauxhall approved engine oil as soon as possible.

Vauxhall Viva error code 81: Service transmission. A fault may have been detected in the vehicle’s transmission / gearbox.

Vauxhall Viva error code 82: Change engine oil soon. An engine oil change is required either due to service interval or degraded oil quality.

Vauxhall Viva error code 84: Engine power reduced. Error code may appear along with reduced engine power warning light. Reduced engine power is a safety override system to help prevent engine damage. It can be due to various faults. Diagnostic fault readers are required to establish fault codes – cause of errors.

Vauxhall Viva error code 95: Service airbag.

Vauxhall Viva error code 145: Check washer fluid level.

Vauxhall Viva error code 151: Press clutch to start.

Vauxhall Viva error code 174: Low vehicle battery. This can be due to frequent short journeys. Have battery charged as soon as possible.
