Škoda Yeti Oil Warning Light
Under normal operating conditions, the Škoda Yeti oil warning light should come on with the ignition and go out shortly after the engine has started.
Depending on the issue, the Škoda Yeti oil warning light may illuminate in yellow or red and may flash. An explanation of the oil warning lights is as follows:
Yellow Oil Light
The Škoda Yeti yellow oil warning light is an indication of low oil level. Once the bonnet is released and left open for 30 seconds or more, the oil light goes off.
If engine oil level is not restored, the yellow oil warning light will come on again after around 60 miles (100 km). Top up with the recommended oil as soon as possible.
Yellow Flashing Oil Light
The Škoda Yeti flashing yellow oil warning light is an indication of a oil level sensor fault. The warning light will flash several times after switching on the ignition and an audible sound can be heard.
Continued driving is acceptable, though have sensor replaced as soon as possible.
Red Flashing Oil Light
The Škoda Yeti red oil light is the most serious. The warning light may stay illuminated or flash. The red oil warning is a possible indication of low oil pressure. Low oil pressure means lubrication may not reach all engine components, causing overheating and seizure of the engine.
The red oil warning light can also be triggered by low oil levels, so if driving, pull off the road as quickly as safely possible and switch off the engine. Check oil level and top up if required. Only continue driving if the oil light goes off. If the light remains on, switch off the engine and arrange for vehicle recovery.
