Dacia Duster Tyre Pressure Warning Light
The Dacia Duster tyre pressure monitoring system notifies the driver if one or more tyres loses pressure. Your Dacia Duster will have one of a possible two tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) types:
TPMS type A can be determined by the presence of a sticker located on the inside of the driver door. This is called an ‘indirect’ tyre pressure monitoring system that uses the anti-lock braking system (ABS) to measure wheel speed that in turn, determines a loss of pressure.
TPMS type B can be determined by a sticker located within the vehicle (not inside the driver door). This type of TPMS system is ‘direct’ and uses dedicated pressure sensor located inside each of the vehicle’s tyres.
For the most accurate readings, always check pressures when the tyres are cold. If pressures cannot be checked when cold, the recommended pressures should be increased by 0.2 to 0.3 bar (3 PSI).
Dacia Duster Tyre Pressure Monitoring System A
Dashboard warning light illuminates informing the driver that insufficient pressure has been detected in one or more tyres. In order for the TPMS to perform accurately and reliably, always follow these guidelines:
- Perform a TPMS reset after reinflation – after each adjustment of tyre pressures, the system must be reset
- The TPMS must be reset after the standard pressure have been altered due to load carrying and other usage conditions such as motorway driving.
- Perform a TPMS reset after tyre / wheel change
- After using the tyre inflation kit
- After changing wheel around
- Ensure to use the correct recommended pressures
- Pressures should be checked when tyres are cold
The following may cause the warning light to come on:
- Significant weight load in vehicle or to one side
- Sporty driving with harsh acceleration
- Driving on slippery surfaces
- Use of snow chains
- Using tyres that are not approved by Dacia
Flashing Tyre Pressure Light
Tyre pressure warning light flashes for several seconds then stays on steady indicates that the TPMS must be reset to the correct reference values based on those recommended by Dacia OR that the vehicle has been fitted with a emergency spare wheel that is smaller than the other three.
Tyre Pressure System Fault
Tyre pressure warning light flashes for several seconds then stays on steady along with orange warning light . This indicates that the TPMS has malfunctioned.
Dacia Duster Tyre Pressure Monitoring System B
Dashboard warning light illuminates informing the driver that insufficient pressure has been detected in one or more tyres. In order for the TPMS to perform accurately and reliably, always follow these guidelines:
- The TPMS must be reset after the standard pressure have been altered due to load carrying and other usage conditions such as motorway driving.
- After changing wheels around
- After changing a wheel
Puncture
Dashboard warning light illuminates along with red warning light along with a beep indicates that at least one tyre has been punctures or severely underinflated. Stop immediately to change wheel.
Flashing Tyre Pressure Light
Tyre pressure warning light flashes for several seconds then stays on steady along with orange warning light . This indicates that one tyre is not fitted with sensors – this could be due to having the emergency spare wheel fitted for example.
Dacia Duster Tyre Pressure System Reset
Use this procedure to reset the Dacia Duster tyre pressure monitoring system. This applies for vehicles with TPMS A and B.
- With the ignition on, at the end of the right-hand controls stalk, repeatedly press the button to select the SEt tP function which appears on the dashboard instrument cluster display panel.
- Press and hold the button for approximately three seconds to initialise the reset procedure.
- On the display panel, SEt tP will begin to flash for around five seconds.
- On the display panel, SEt tP will stop flashing. This indicates that the tyre pressure monitoring system has been reset.
