Citroën Berlingo Key Battery Replacement
The Citroën Berlingo provides a message on the information display screen informing that the key battery is flat. An audible signal is also heard. On the Mk 3 Berlingo, the spanner warning light light illuminates along with a message and audible signal. Batteries contain materials that are harmful to the environment. Always dispose of batteries at an approved disposal centre.
Remote Control Battery Replacement
To replace the battery in the Mk 2 and Mk 3 Citroën Berlingo remote control key, you will need:
- A new CR1620 / 3 volts battery
- Flat-head screwdriver (small)
- Insert the screwdriver into the slot to prise off the cover. For the Mk 2 Berlingo remote control key, you can use a screwdriver or coin to lever off the cover at the ring.
- Remove the cover.
- Take note of the fitting direction of the battery (positive + facing upwards) and remove the old battery.
- Fit a new battery into the compartment (positive + facing upwards).
- Replace the cover and securely click into place.
- The remote control must be reinitialised after replacing the battery – see below.
Wireless Entry Battery Replacement
To replace the battery in the Citroën Berlingo wireless entry key, you will need:
- A new CR2032 / 3 volts battery
- Flat-head screwdriver (small)
- Insert a small screwdriver into the slot and prise off the cover.
- Remove the cover.
- Take note of the fitting direction of the battery (positive + facing upwards) and remove the old battery.
- Fit a new battery into the compartment (positive + facing upwards).
- Replace the cover and securely click into place.
Remote Control Initialisation
After replacing the battery in the remote control, it may be necessary to reinitialise the Citroën Berlingo remote control key. To do this:
- Turn off the ignition.
- Turn the key to position 2.
- Immediately press the closed padlock button for 5 seconds.
- Switch off the ignition and remove the key from the key slot.
- Wait for around 1 minute.
- The remote control is now fully operational.
